Sometimes I believe exams not only test you on how much you know about a subject matter, they also test you on your mental strength.
If, in an examination, the first question is a really tough question on a simple topic, and you struggle to complete that question, you'll probably be psychologically weakened when you're ready to tackle the remaining questions.
I'm not referring to any particular exam paper I've sat for, it's just something that I wondered about on the train just now. And I've been wondering the papers are set that way; as in, whether lecturers/teachers intend to achieve such an effect and just destroy your confidence if possible before the remaining questions cut you down ruthlessly.
For some people, who're really knowledgeable and confident in the subject matter, it's okay, cause they'll probably not go all wobbly in the knees right away. I suppose this is an effective method to separate the pretenders from the really confident ones. Haha.
It was really funny today when Yong, Phoebe, Daphaney and I stood outside a classroom and watched some of our classmates (we were separated into two groups) as they sat for our Financial Economics test paper. Analysis of Examination Behavior? We were trying to determine how difficult the test was by observing them. Sadly, we didn't get many clues. Haha.
More tests coming up next week. Alice, wait for me!! :D
