GAME DAY

We played games during the Teambuilding and Leadership Skills lecture today.

There are normally six teams during other activities, but today, we merged two teams into one. My team (Team 6) merged with Team 3 led by a guy named Robson. Overall, each of the merged teams would have about 12-14 members.

The lecturers had already set the classroom up, and turned it into an obstacle course. There were crisscrossing strings tied everywhere in the classroom, supposedly as a 'death trap' kinda situation (think of those motivational camps where a team would have to get through 'spiderwebs'). Each team's members would have to navigate the strings without touching them (hair is fine though), and there were two checkpoints, with challenges for the team members before they can move forward. Oh, did I mention that everyone had to crawl on the floor to avoid the strings?

Ok. Before we could get going, we had to select three people to perform special duties. A 'doctor' who would have to 'revive' anyone who touched the strings (if you touch a string you go back to the start, then the doctor would have to touch you and let you go again). If the doctor 'died', well...it would be "Hasta la vista, baby!". For the doctor.

And then, we had to select a 'helper'. This guy doesn't need to crawl through the string-maze. Instead, he would go around pulling up or holding down strings so that teammates can get through the tight, tight places. He can only hold one string at a time though.

Finally, we select a pengawas, a watcher of sorts, to keep an eye on other teams and stop them from cheating, or to send them back to the beginning if they failed or something.

We selected Yin Chee a.k.a Shadow to be our doctor, since she's most probably the smallest member in the team. Chris was the helper, cause he's the largest, and finally, Chee Aun, the Team 6 leader, became the watcher. Cause, he's tall. :D

The rest of us would do the crawling. Inevitably, the doctor was left behind in case any of us failed to survive the deathly-tangly confusion of strings.

Goodness, the strings are almost invisible here!

First challenge. First, place five bottle caps on your palm. Then launch them into the air, try to get them to land on the back of your hand, then toss them up and catch them. Guys have to catch at least three; girls, two.

Everyone got through rather easily, after one or two tries. I stayed behind, and struggled to get three. Took me a lot of tries. Dammit, I really sucked at this! :S

Other teams going at it.

The second challenge involved lighting candles. We had to tie a string to a candle and hold the candle by the string. Then, one person would be given a flame, and he/she would have to light all his/her teammates' candles.

We did this twice, cause apparently we broke the rules in the first round. Either way, we still did it quick enough to move on, to the final round.

Treasure-hunting!

We were given a clue, and sent off to look for other clues, which would lead up to the final item that we had to find.

My teammates. We ran all over the campus, searching everywhere for clues. This is where more brains would be better than just a few. We had to figure out the clues quick, but most of the time, we had no problems, except for one particular clue (more on that later)

Here are some places where we found some clues (eight clues in total): toilets (one each in male and female toilets), hidden in a gap between a tree's branches, slotted into a book in the library (this was the only one we found difficult, we wasted a lot of time running here and there during this part, cause we couldn't find the book at first, and went elsewhere, and later went back to the library blablablagrhghlsnore), hidden behind a chair at the back of a classroom etc.

The librarians were really helpful! LOL they helped us look for the book.

We were possibly the fastest team at first, but in the end, the library clue had us fumbling around, and we wasted valuable time. We finished last.

Still, it was a great day. I guess the activity sort of helped build and promote teamwork, cause we had to work with each other to get things done, even though we don't know one another.

After it all, there was a photo-taking session, then...class dismissed.

Omg I had diarrhea for the past couple of days. Had to crap in UTAR. Couldn't hold it in. What's wrong @_@!
