Inner Beauty VS Outer Beauty

Fufufu. We had a debate during today's Leadership and Teambuilding lecture.

The lecturer allowed 'rojak' language. So most of the debate ended up being spoken in Mandarin, with scattered bits of English here and there.

There were six teams. Mine chose the topic in the title above. And we were the ones supporting Inner Beauty.

Well, we won. The opposing team gave solid points, and so did we. The judges mostly agreed that we were almost evenly matched, during the break before the conclusion.

And the conclusion sort of...did it. I gave the conclusion for my team, versus theirs, and while they just reinforced their earlier points, I did that, as well as added a few things I thought of at the spur of the moment.

So...the conclusion sort of helped clinch the win for our team la *bangga* XD

My teammates thought I did that quite well, and supposedly one of our opponents said I seemed really confident, but in actual fact...I was really really tensed up when I was speaking. Gaaah.

I think my teammates were awesome. They did most of the arguing, especially our team leader Chee Aun and another speaker Shadow (her name means 'shadow' in Mandarin :)

Chris, the first speaker, gave a really nice introduction, and he opened fire upon the opposition almost immediately.

The fourth speaker in our team, Horng Shi really challenged the opponent's team to answer questions which are really difficult. One thing I noticed bout him when he was speaking: He ended most of his sentences with 'Ok?', which, to me, somehow managed to sound condescending towards the opponents. LOL

Even the two team members who didn't actually debate, Chee Oon and May Yan gave a lot of valuable points and ideas when we were brainstorming yesterday. It was just good teamwork that we managed to get ourselves ready for it within just one night.

But this debate is probably just the tip of the iceberg. We still have an event to plan, as well as a drama to perform in the upcoming weeks. But for now, this is probably one of the subjects in which I'm actually having the most fun. :D
